All about Sue
Your Tutor
Sue Gibson first trained as a gardener with the National Trust at Nymans Gardens in West Sussex. Here she acquired a wealth of experience in all aspects of garden maintenance, gaining practical know-how that can be applied equally well to a private garden as to a large parkland garden open to the public.
Plant propagation became a speciality when Sue worked at a general nursery in Gloucestershire and later she worked in her own Low Maintenance Gardening business. A 2-year HNC course in Garden Design and Maintenance at Pershore College of Horticulture, followed by a teaching course, developed into her own Garden Design School.
Sue also taught horticulture, RHS and garden design at three horticultural colleges: Lackham College in Wiltshire, Cannington College at Bristol Zoo Gardens, and Hartpury College in Gloucester.
Passionate about spreading the gardening word, she now teaches privately from her home in Slimbridge, Gloucestershire. She has appeared on Gardeners Question Time on local radio and on the BBC’s The One Show.
